Located just 80 kilometres south of Tofo and Inhambane, the old Portuguese resort town of Zavora is ideal for travellers looking to get off of the beaten path.

With never ending untouched beaches, great surf conditions, snorkelling and world class diving all featured in a picturesque African setting, it’s a fantastic getaway.

Zavora Bay is protected by a reef, and this is where boats are launched. There is a natural tidal pool created by this reef that is ideal for snorkelling and swimming. Plenty of humpback whales are sighted between June and November. Occasionally eagle and manta rays as well as graceful sailfish burst from the surface in brief flights. Dolphins are regularly seen feeding and playing in the bay.
