Kleinmond is a great place for outdoor junkies to get their fix.

It offers good fishing, lagoons which are safe for swimming and a sheltered, but dangerous beach. Kleinmond is also a hikers paradise, and with constantly good swell, surfers won’t find it too sloppy either. Kleinmond’s biggest attraction however, is probably the walks that can be found in the area and the local plant life which, in total, amounts to over 1000 species. The Koggelberg Biosphere is home to the most complex biodiversity on our planet with more than 1,880 different plant species, and is a definite must see.

At nearby Betty’s Bay, the Bass Lake offers excellent swimming, canoeing, and fishing. Backpackers should be sure to visit the Wild horses at the Rooisand Nature Reserve, a group of 23 wld horses rely on an abundance of grazing in the Rooisand vlei.

Budget travellers can play a round of 9 holes at the Kleinmond Golf Club, or get some retail therapy done at the Harbour Road Market in Kleinmond before enjoying your sundowners with some of the best views in the Cape Overberg region.
