Lubanzi is a very remote, small  village on the Wild Coast. This is where the sea and sky meet and where backpackers go to be as far away from everything as they can be. This is rural village living at its best.

Lubanzi is the place where backpackers go to explore, hike and fish.  A river estuary flows past the south side of Mpame forest and is the breeding ground for a large variety of fish. The birdlife around the estuary is diverse and fish eagles and kingfishers can often be spotted.

It is Ideal for nature loveing travellers, reefs dot the coastline and snorkelling and diving here is a must. With poor road access, and less outside influence, this amaXhosa village still has a strong cultural heritage and history.

Lubanzi means wide and deep to describe the breathtaking views of the Lubanzi cliff that leads to Hole in the Wall.

Wild Lubanzi Backpackers offers comfortable rustic backpackers accommodation in the Wildest Part of Everywhere.
