In the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe, Chimanimani is one of the country's finest mountain wilderness areas and a very popular hiking destination with backpackers and budget travellers.

Close to the town are the scenic Bridal Veil Falls  while nearby is Chirinda forest, Africa’s southernmost tropical rainforest, harbouring strelitzias, wild orchids, tree ferns, cycads and rare trees. The forest is also home to the 1000-year-old Big Tree, a red mahogany which is nearly 70m high and 16m around

Chimanimani National Park is situated along the eastern boundary of Chimanimani district (bordering Mozambique) in an area of rugged mountain grandeur, enhanced by many spectacular gorges and high peaks rising to 2436m.

What Chimanimani offers backpackers most,is serenity, where the pace slows down and the stress and crowds of the city fade away.

Budget travellers can check in at Heaven Mountain Lodge in Chimanimani for your piece of the calm serenity the area has on offer. Heaven awaits.
